Hello all, I'm after some help with a part built kit I just acquired. Luckily only the fus, tail plane and upper wing centre section were attempted. Although described as being well built, it's really was not. It looked bad at first sight and I thought I could straighten the fus by removing all the stringers, pulling it straight and refitting new stringers to hold it square. The Flair kit is built around a pair of crutches, so even after I'd removed all the stringers I couldn't straighten it as it was held by the crutch. So the only way to sort the fus was to cut it up, including the crutches and save the formers to rebuild it from scratch- which I'm about to do.
I'll rebuild a new tail plane with a symmetrical section if I can get some idea of the full size section. The upper centre section has now been de skinned and I will straighten the end ribs ( which were really twisted and off square) and resheet it. From what I've read the Flair model suffers from power/speed induced climb. The model has a symmetrical section tail plane although the full size semi symmetrical cambered section. Question- Does anyone know where I can get a drawing of the full size tail plane ribs/section? Download Dragon Drive World D Break English Rom. I want to convert it to have 4 ailerons. Has anyone got any idea if the wings are clipped or still full length on the Super Strearman?
I've found very little info on the size of the top ailerons, but notice the top ailerons are shorter- has anyone got some info?
